In the early 90’s, Capital Pawn was looking for a pawn software that would meet their needs. After reviewing a variety of other pawnshop software, Capital Pawn decided to develop their own software to meet the real needs of a working pawnshop. In 1992, Capital Systems was formed as a sister company to Capital Pawn… and Pawnbroker Plus development began.
Pawnbroker Plus was initially developed in DOS format. With the advancement of Microsoft Windows, a Windows version of Pawnbroker Plus was finished in 1999. At that time, Capital Systems received a lot of interest in the software from other pawnbrokers. After viewing Pawnbroker Plus pawn software in action at the Capital Pawn locations, requests started pouring in asking to purchase the software for use in their own pawn stores.
With the first sale of Pawnbroker Plus, Capital Systems understood a real need for friendly and efficient technical support. Pawnshops thrive on customer service, and computer problems can be a detriment to a customer-friendly atmosphere. While running Pawnbroker Plus, pawnshops are secure in the knowledge that any problem will be addressed quickly and efficiently, thereby causing little downtime and even less headaches.
Pawnbroker Plus is now in the developmental stage to ensure compatibility with Windows Vista. Capital Systems will always listen to pawnbrokers, outline the “real world” requirements of a pawnshop, and develop pawn software that meets the changing needs of the pawn industry.
